The first piece of writing that I was paid to produce was a humor article in a boating magazine. From there, I worked my way into the alternative press by writing features, profiles and art reviews for various city magazines in various cities. 

I fell into a television production job where I learned the business from the bottom up.  I started off as a bad grip but eventually became a competent producer. I went on to write and produce a number of series and specials. I then executive-produced several more shows. But I was always writing. In fact, I’m writing something right now. 

Novels, television scripts, videos, magazine features, and social media posts are now called “content.”  That makes me a content provider. It’s still the same job,  stringing words together on a computer screen or better yet, a blank piece of paper. I still love that.
