The Internet has turned writers and producers into content providers and I’m just fine with that.  Every publication that I write for has a web-based component. Everything I write and produce exists in a digital format, the web is just another set of channels.

Architecture and Design

DesignPOV.com
I own the copyright for most of the design-based pieces I’ve written over the years.  I’ve taken my favorites, tracked down images and turned them into web-based copy that I publish on DesignPOV.com.  My “point of view” is reflected on the site as in many cases I publish original and/or alternate versions of what is published in the mainstream media.  There’s also short pieces, blog links, architectural travel videos and other bonus material.

Automotive

Manage My Life Sears – Sears recently jumped onto the interactive portion of the world wide web with a site designed to provide you with answers to everyday questions.  They tapped my automotive expertise and hired me to write several articles about cars, tires, wheels, batteries, and various other components, parts and pieces.

Remote Car Starters
Tire Blow Outs

Energy

HGTV-Pro
I was contracted to produce a series of webisodes on the Solar Decathlon – a biannual event where college students construct solar powered homes on the National Mall.  The homes then “compete” against each other in a variety of engineering and aesthetic challenges to determine a winner.  I used the event to produce a full-length educational video as well as a series of short pieces for HGTV-Pro

Real Estate

Urban Turf
If you write about architecture and design long enough, eventually it spills into real estate stories. Here’s online web-only publication that covers the housing market in Washington DC.

Travel

The tourism bureau of Nova Scotia invited me for a visit to Nova Scotia, I took three cameras and invented the architectural travel program known as “Not Really a Travel Writer.”

Urban Planning – Enews/Social Networking

At the National Capital Planning Commission, I write and produce the monthly electronic newsletter. I also update the agency Facebook page and monitor interactions.  I constructed the NCPCdotGov YouTube channel and regularly post videos and write the descriptions.
