On Writing for TV and Video…
Television is different from print. I had to learn this.
You must write to the picture. You must keep it active.
You must re-cap. You must drive the story forward.
You must make the producer happy and especially the client.
Writing for TV and Video is like assembling a jig saw puzzle.
When you’re finished you should end up with a beautiful picture.
With no pieces left over.

On Producing…
I’m a TV producer. That’s what I tell people.
I tell them when to watch my shows. Many have seen Bruno on Dream House.
Yes, he’s really like that.
Being a producer takes you behind the curtains of a story and allows you to construct every element. Be there when the footage is shot. Look for the nice angles. Chunk out the story elements. Bring the words into play, add the music, add the graphics. What you have at the end is a little slice of history that stands up and walks around on it’s own. It’s like building a Frankenstein monster only better looking, but just as entertaining.
